Zombie Infection - iPhone Zombie Game
I am always after a new zombie game for my iPhone and decided to check out Zombie Infection on the iTunes store since I had excellent reviews. I can certainly say I am very impressed. Some keep calling it a Resident Evil knock off but I think this game has a personality of its own. Gameloft which has many titles on the iPhone, is the company behind this gem.
I have been playing it more than most of the games I have currently, yes even more than Plants Vs Zombies. We are introduced to the plot right at the beginning of the game to give the player an idea on who and what you are up against. A massive global conglomerate has managed to seize control of most the world and become a government style entity. Now some of you are thinking "Yeah and so does Resident Evil", well then again House of the Dead shares the same plot and no one really thought about it, after all its all about putting the dead back where they belong right?
You play as an ex-soldier who is on a quest to find his brother who has vanished somewhere in Brazil. Upon arriving you start noticing how strange the locals are acting and do not seemed concerned that a spec-ops style guy has invaded their town. Things get really wild when the player catches them eating the butcher instead of his products. Alright now things get interesting. The zombies vary from slow shamblers, fast attacks, bosses, and weapon wielding.
The control scheme is pretty simple, you have a control stick and move your thumb around to see your surroundings. There is a gun button which allows you to draw your weapons and the aiming is done very well. The controls are very fluid which is uncommon in most of the zombie games I have played on the iPhone. Some of the bosses I have fought were unique and well thought out. The combat system works very well for this game and still may frustrate some people, seasoned veterans will find it simplistic and easy to use. There are a few puzzles but nothing very complex as of yet. Most are simple like having to get into a building by using a series of jumps and opening a previously inaccessible door. If you have an iPhone and enjoy a good zombie blasting game with a good story then I highly recommend you check this out.
