Survival of the Dead Behind the Scenes
Posted January 25, 2010

As most any diehard zombie fanatic knows, George A Romero is the king of the zombies. Much like myself most are stoked about the new Survival of the Dead which is launching in the UK in March of this year. No word on the release date for the United States. Here is a bit more info on the film along with some behind the scenes.
Zombie Wars Facebook Application
Posted January 25, 2010

Zombie Wars is a cool little application from Product Madness that I have been playing religiously since before X-mas and I have been hooked. The basic premise of the game is simple, you start out as a prisoner who survives a zombie outbreak and you are forced to establish a base of operations and become the savior to other lost souls. You can also recruit people from your facebook friends list to help you in battles, finding supplies, or rescuing survivors. There are numerous weapons and defensive items at your disposal. Eventually you will be allowed to purchase buildings and vehicles for your colony to prosper. Anyone who enjoys the Zombie Browser Based styled games and has a facebook account needs to check this one out.
Here are some in game screen shots. I managed to contact the developers and we will be landing an interview with them very soon so stayed tuned.

E'Gad Zombies! Living Dead Media Exclusive
Posted January 18, 2010
The director of E'Gad Zombies! Matthew Butler was kind enough to speak with Living Dead Media on his project and give the fans a litte more detail about his vision.
Here is what the director Mr. Butler had to say about his debut film.
I directed the film and, along with Tori Hart, wrote it. I also play William Filthe, the dappy poet hero, and Tori plays Vanity Banks the beautiful but slightly terrifying heiress that William loves. I know that people are going to start comparing this to Pride and Predjudice and Zombies, but I promise you it is very different. In fact we wrote the script before we'd even heard of the book.
Tori and I were actually in an 18th century play in London and I just thought how brilliant zombies would look in those costumes. So we started writing. We tried to make it seem like an 18th century play, with similar themes and characters, but we added zombies. This means it's a comedy with quite extreme characters, so is going to be very different to P and P! I also need to say that I haven't actually read the book. I thought it would just be safer just in case people start thinking we're just jumping on the band-wagon!
In E'gad, Zombies! the plague has only just hit the town of Upper Trollop so they have no knowledge of what these things are, and since they don't have any zombie films to learn from, have no idea what they're supposed to do about them. Also, Ian McKellen is interested in the feature as well, but he'd be playing one of the main characters this time.
We here at Living Dead Media are very excited to see how this turns out and from the clips we have seen and in speaking with Director Matthew Butler that we are in for a real treat. We wish the team of E'Gad Zombies! the best and will keep you updated on the progress.
E'Gad Zombies!

This up and coming production was brought to my attention by a fellow zombie fan and I have been working diligently to find some more info to bring you. Let me tell you it was not easy.

E'Gad Zombies! stars Ian McKellen and from the looks of things appears to be a zombie comedy along the same veins as Pride, Prejudice, and Zombies. The premise of the film is still sketchy but the trailer shows a zombie outbreak in either Britain or colonial America.

This is certainly a breath of fresh air in the zombie genre as most take place either in the now or some sort of apocalyptic future. The cause of the zombie outbreak is still a mystery but the zombies certainly look very cool.
Here are some stills from the film and a teaser trailer. Be sure to stick with Living Dead Media and the E'Gad Zombies! offical site for further updates. Thanks John for the info and heads up on the project!

Dawn of the Dead 2

"It's fascinating, because it's the sequel to our movie. I was like, 'We should do a sequel to Day', but they weren't interested."
The director said that he and screenwriter James Gunn diverged from the rules Romero created for the original Dawn, which rendered it difficult to continue remaking Romero's movies.
"Inadvertently we created a whole different world. We went off, and in a lot of ways the rules that George created don't apply at the end of this Dawn."
Snyder said that his original idea for the remake may have made subsequent films harder to develop.
"I always wanted to make a movie where the zombies won from the beginning. I think I demonstrated that in the first 10 minutes. It doesn't take long for them to really kind of win. It's more about, like, you're in an air bubble."
According to the director the talks with Universal have begun, but the project does not have a definite start date.
"We kicked around some ideas, but I don't know what we're going to do with it. We've talked about it. I met with James. I met with the producers. The heat comes on and off of that. I think Universal wants it bad."
