INSECTULA

a sci fi/horror film written and directed by Michael Peterson and produced by Danielle Cezanne

Tagline: What has wings,  weighs sixteen hundred pounds and drinks blood?

Back in the '50's , 60's and '70's there were a crop of films that put forth ideas about nature going terribly wrong.   These films had tons of mutant or alien critters that began with nuclear testing , from a lost world or from very distant planets. "Insectula" revives those great movies of that era.  The story tells the tale of an alien mosquito like creature that becomes drawn to our planet by the earth's high level of carbon dioxide in search of human blood.  A government agent, Del, has suffered losses because of this creature and is out to eradicate the thing.  Dr. Kempler, a mad scientist type in the "vein" of Vincent Price has other plans for the colossal blood sucker.  "Insectula" continues the tradition of large insects that was featured in "Them", "The Deadly Mantis" and "Tarantula" but this one promises to take itself less seriously.

The film is the creation of director/writer Michael Peterson and Danielle Cezanne and features Harrison Matthews as Dr. Kempler and Sarah French as Sarah.  "Insectula" is the first film which Danielle Cezanne acts in the producer seat.

The film is currently in production and release of the film is scheduled to be in 2012.

It seems to define a new genre -- Horror RomCom?

This movie looks so awesome! I am a big fan of the old school horror and sci-fi movies.
